New nursing student stethoscope advice?

apnotforme said:

I'm starting the NS in the fall and I was wondering if anyone can express the opinion on whether I should just go ahead and buy the Littmann cardiology stethoscope matrix which is very expensive but having to do very good reviews, rather than pocket money on most models cheap and eventually buy more expensive one. Are not yet a nurse and I just need for clinicals.

  1. I 'M we hope to begin my nursing profession ranking next year. One of prereqs is a certificate of STNA. The nurse who has taught us that it 's not a good idea to buy the expensive real stethoscopes in training because most people lose one or two.

  2. Go for models pi? cheap. I agree with the poster above, the stethoscopes get stolen, if your name? them or not. I 'VE the past with at least 6 in 26 years. Of course you can riporrli pure evil, or someone you select it 'up of thought; s them. Wait until? get a position, if you End up on un'unit? cardiology, and then buy one. Good luck with the school and your edges. Even while you are in school, read a page or two of the questions on the board every night, you will learn and get a good feel for the questions. And, just don 't store, PERCH think?! Good luck to the student as well! We need better nurse!

  3. Definitely don 't go with the matrix for a cardiology stethoscope device starter. My advice would be to use many different kinds as you can while you 're starting out, then select your favorite. I 'the VE has had a classic matrix II from 1998 (the guarded with my life and I only had a casting with it "accidentally" followed them down and made it back!). I love him because he has a bell-sided. For some reason, it 's easier for me to feel when I' m at work. Please note that working in an ambulance of Deisel anyway. As I said, try some different genres, see what works best for you! BTW, there 's very few people I can think of who have cardiology matrix and say that they were usually bought only because they' re & that practically deaf, can 't hear anything else with. Good luck to the school of nursing profession!
