Im a nursing student. How do I use stethoscope/BP Cuff?

Nicole said:

I am a very curious student to professional nurse in my first semester taking pre-reqs. So they are not in the profession of nursing YET. But I bought a stethoscope and a cuff double heads of BP and I have tried to learn how to use them. The stethoscope is not working at all, within the relevant parties do not kno how one makes the right direction. when I try to listen to the beat of the heart, NO. I have no idea how to use BP cuff at all. I want to be ahead and learn how to do these basic tasks of a professional nurse. directions gradual greatly appreciated thank u

  1. read the instructions before use on humans

  2. First put on the cuff then inflated to about 180 above what ever they called the PSI or something, I don 't know what is measured but the PSI will work for now. Put the right side of the stethoscope over the elbow joint, on the inside of the arm. Beginning to reduce the pressure, the slower you release more accurate your measurement will be. Are going to wait to hear the changes going to be like a shot, what will be the number of your fist. Then you get the lowest number when the "thump" goes away.

  3. read the manual, my grandmother could calculate it out. good luck
