Depends on how serious you are about the appreciation of the variety? large (and clinically important) of sounds. Faculty in? of Medicine, I decided that really? the novice, as soon as the expert, who needs a good stethoscope. Stethoscopes cheap won 't S4 reveals a pathology or a pericardial friction. You won 'the need? t know this sounds like milk but it is learning to use a stethoscope much more? interesting! I won 't suggests a particular brand. & My wife, I have a Littman each.
Brin is absolutely right on 2 counts: Littman is the brand of play, but you don 't need a stethoscope if you' re not a cardiologist. Yes, you can hear a wide range of sounds and different qualities of sounds clearer, if you have a stethoscope of the high-dollar. if all you 'need of a ll of, though, is just to assess the presence and regularity of heartbeat, or causes the blood pressure stuff, save your money. if you 're going to use your' scope in an environment where it 's really going to get beat up a lot (such as the rocking around in the back of an ambulance), save your money. if you 're going to use it in a quiet room and you' re going to use it to organize the murmurs, he gets good.
